None Of The Above Newsletter   Vol. 2, Issue 1 February, 2000

Second quarterly newsletter for None Of The Above Bluegrass Band. There is a lot of informationBanjo Rocker to share with you all in this issue.   Some good and not so good (bad) news as well.  We hope that everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's Holiday.

Congratulations Are In Order

We would like to say our congrats to Roger Stamper who recently got married at the end of November.  He and his wife Amy had a nice, small ceremony in a little country church.  Kind of makes you think that there should be a bluegrass song in there somewhere. Best of wishes from us all and we hope that you have many, many happy years together.

"...all points in between" Reviews

Our CD has received several reviews during the past few months. Bluegrass Telegraph and Bluegrass Unlimited both gave us favorable reviews.  You can read extended excerpts at notareviews.htm on our web site. We appreciate all the great comments and positive responses we have received.

Web Site Update / Top 100 Bluegrass Sites

We would like to ask for your help to keep our site on the Top 100 Bluegrass Sites at www.BluegrassRules.com .   All you have to do is visit our site and click on the vote button. You can only vote for one site per day.  So if you do not mind, visit ours every couple of days to vote or choose from one that you like on the Top 100 List.  Also thanks to all of you who have already been voting for us.

The web site is being updated about once per month at this time.  We now have over 40 links to other bands as well as over 100 links to other bluegrass and bluegrass related sites. The lists are growing with each update.  We also have schedules from local venues around the area and links to several others.   Some have not been updated as of yet for the year 2000.  We have had some difficulty in get the schedules that are needed to update the information.  Hopefully we will be able to do so over the next few weeks

Be sure and visit us at: WWW.NoneOfTheAbove.net for more up to date information and remember to sign our guest book at the bottom of the page.

New Recording

NOTA has scheduled some time at the end of February and first of March for a return to the Old House Recording Studio, in Dobson.  We are getting all geared up to begin work on our next project.  We are going to cut demos first of 3 or 4 original songs, then pitch them to some record labels.  More information to soon follow.

Logo Wanted

NOTA wants a logo for the group.  We have not really been able to come up with any great ideas, or at least not any that we all agree on.  So we would like to ask for your assistance.  If anyone might have an idea or wants to sketch out some samples for us, please do so and contact us at the email address below.  We want to make some t-shirts and hats in the near future as well.  Thanks for your help.

Recent Changes

Roger StamperThey say that all good things must come to an end.  Well that must be true of all things in life including bluegrass music. Roger Stamper has recently decided to concentrate on old-time music full-time.  Joining up again with the Zephyr Lighting Bolts Old-Time, he is playing mostly rhythm guitar and some fiddle.  ZLB is glad to have Roger back with the group and has started work on their next recording.   NOTA has not yet decided if we want to look for another fiddler or even a mandolin player, since David plays either one.  He now often pulls double duty by playing both, sometimes even in the same song.  Adding another fiddle player would be ideal since we like to have twin fiddles on the waltzes and two-step tunes.  We are focusing, at this time, on improving our instrumentation, tightness and harmony vocals with the current line-up. NOTA will miss Roger's fantastic fiddle playing and great sense of humor.

Always feel free to send us comments, suggestions or things we need to add to keep you better informed.  We would also like to thank all those who have supported us over the past few years.  The list is way too long to acknowledge everyone that needs the credit. We appreciate all that you have done to support our music.

Send us an email at: noneoftheabove@noneoftheabove.net

Thanks again and we hope to see you at one of our upcoming performances,
