None Of The Above Newsletter       Volume I, November 1999

This is the first official newsletter for None Of The Above Bluegrass Band. Our plans are to send them out about every three months to keep our fans, friends and family updated of current events, changes, play dates & etc.  This newsletter will be coming out in HTML Format. It will be best viewed if your email program is set up to view HTML Documents or you will miss out on the pictures and links that might be included. You can change your settings by using your help menu to guide you through the process.

Always feel free to send us comments, suggestions or things we need to add to keep you better informed.  We would also like to thank all those who have supported us over the past few years.  The list is way too long to acknowledge everyone that needs the credit. We appreciate all that you have done to support our music.

Recent Changes

Some folks may or may not be aware of the addition of David Crawford as ourDavid Crawford mandolin player. From Mt. Airy, David adds a unique mandolin playing style that fits well with the group and he often adds a high harmony to the instrumental fiddle tunes. He also plays the fiddle and will often twin with Roger on two-step and slow tunes. With a strong singing voice, David puts in some great harmony and has begun working on singing lead on some songs.

NOTA would also like to give much appreciation to Charlie Wagoner, our former mandolin player.  Charlie's traditional roots have left a lasting impact on the group.  He gave us a great foundation to keep our music on the right track as we often continue to push our music to the boundaries of bluegrass.

New Recording

Nota will be going back into the studio at the first of the year to begin work on our next project.  We hope to mainly include originals, at least 75%.   Tim S. has written several new songs and David is working on an instrumental.   We are planning at this time to cut a demo first of 3 or 4 songs, then send it out to some record labels.  Hopefully one will be willing to sign us on and we will finish the project under their label.  That would help us with the distribution and maybe the cost.  Wish us luck.

The web site is being updated several times a month.  We now have over 40 links to other bands as well as over 100 links to other bluegrass and bluegrass related sites.  We also have schedules from local venues around the area and links to several others.
